Introduction to Branded Despia

It's been over a year since I released my guide, and after all the meta switches on Master Duel, I think it's high time I updated this to more accurately reflect our modern decklists.

Without further ado, let's start with the question, what is our main game plan?

Branded Despia is a fusion-focused combo deck, with heavy emphasis on resource management and matchup knowledge.

We have various ways of fusion summoning using monsters on the opponent's field, notoriously with the monster the whole deck revolves around: Loading... .

Our decklists tend to lean heavily into engine cards instead of breakers or handtraps, so it's important to know the small interaction between your own cards to squeeze any card advantage you can.

Core

Main Deck

Basic Starter

Branded Fusion

Loading... is your strongest and main card: It Fusion Summons an Albaz Fusion using materials from your deck, filling up your GY with resources.

Aluber the Jester of Despia

Loading... , your Branded Spell and trap searcher, also has hidden effect in the GY to negate a monster if your fusion summoned monster left the field because of your opponent's card effect.

Branded Opening

Loading... allows you to search or summon a Despia monster from the deck, especially your main starter Loading... , or the new Loading... . Also has hidden effect in GY to protect your fusion monster from destruction.

Branded Engine

Main

Fallen of Albaz

Loading... is the main material for Loading... , used to make some powerful Fusion Monsters like Loading... and Loading... . This card also has an effect similar to Loading... upon summon, fusing it with your opponent's monster(s) with a discard as a cost, giving you strong board breaking power.

Loading... is part of one of your main combo lines, it's used as material to make Loading... , which can then be tributed to Special Summon this card. It also has a field effect to place one continuous Branded spell or trap, like Loading... . You can discard this card to search any Bystial monster.

Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous

Loading... allows you to Fusion Summon without using a Fusion Spell, enabling alternative lines or triggering Fusion Material effects. This is a Quick Effect on the field, meaning you can dodge certain monster effects (like Imperm or Veiler) if they target your monsters. With Loading... in your Extra Deck, this card is very easy to summon using Loading... . With the help of Loading... , it is now easy to end your turn with this card on the field, allowing you to Fusion Summon during both your turn and your opponent's.

Loading... is one of the most important cards from our last support wave. On summon, it sends any card that mentions Loading... from the deck to the GY and revives one whenever a monster leaves the Extra Deck. It’s very easy to search and summon due to being both a Dogmatika and Despia card.
