With the event ban list, it's much easier to put a board up when going first. Typically you end on Magnifica with one or two of the traps and a couple of hand-traps. Opponents usually have a way to deal with Magnifica but her effect to XYZ summon one of her materials means you either lock their deck out of the GY or banish whatever they get on board.
It's also less painful to go second with Ultimate Slayer and the draw spells meaning theres enough card advantage to clear a board and setup for your opponents turn.
