Notes & Combos
I'm finally here with my namesake deck, Marincess. I got a winstreak pretty early on and just forgot to post it, so I had to get the next one. I played a lot of Melodious in the event too, but thought I'd post this cause I just posted a Melodious profile from ranked.
I feel really good about this deck. The Marincess engine is pretty consistent and is small enough to allow for a ton of non-engine space, in this case being 22. The only thing I'd change is swapping out some of the Imperms as this event commonly places monsters on the board, or bring down the Dominus Impulses to 2, so that I could add more Trickstar Light Stages, but I didn't have enough dust for more than 1, or Forbidden Droplet to send the free card. Light Stage is a really good card both going first and second, being more copies of Aqua Angel, and a board breaker, freezing a backrow until you activate Battle Ocean. I threw in a couple Ghost Belles because of the prevalence of Fiendsmith in here as well. I didn't keep in Ghost Ogre or Fuwalos because I just didn't think they'd be usefull in the event, Fuwa being a dead card most of the time and not even a usefull normal summon in this deck, and its anti-synergy with Droll which was crazy into Mermail, and Ogre because Blue-Eyes wasn't going to be a problem. I also didn't run into a lot of Argostars.
As for the Marincess cards themselves, Aqua Angel was fantastic, giving perfect hand knowledge, which is always useful. Blue Tang remains the best starter of the deck as well, and I still like Pascalus at 1. Neither of the Xyz's came up, but I'd keep them in cause Dweller is crazy into Mermail, and Kragen is funny when LP is halved. Lizardose with Talent is funny as well.
Overall solid deck that I love playing. See ya next month.
