Notes & Combos
Dragonmaid Fusion/XYZ/Link
I pulled a Royal Light and Darkness Dragonlord, so I had to play this deck for the event. Dragonmaid without Links is quite a bit weaker, and Chamber by herself isn’t a full combo without the Link-1s. But with some extra extenders the deck is still pretty consistent at setting up a board.
With the new Dragonmaid support, the deck is very intuitive to play. Just get Lady’s Dragonmaid on the field, set up some recovery, or secure some follow-up for the next turn—and then win through the fusion effect every Standby Phase. The best end board this deck can make is:
- Lady’s Dragonmaid + Sheou on your own turn
- Set Tidying
- Then fuse into Dragonlord during your opponent’s Standby Phase
Do not summon Dragonlord if you don’t have Tidying. After he uses his negates, he will still chain-block all your opponent’s effects, which means you can’t use Sheou.
The Bystials are almost always good. Most of my matches are against Sky Striker, and banishing their one copy of Roze turns off the second effect of Zero. They also help get your cards into banishment if you need fusion material for Lady.
The Extra Deck is pretty flexible. You could even run Super Poly, but it’s at 1, so I didn’t bother. I went with a fairly standard lineup; the only strange choice is Five-Headed Dragon. The idea is that it could out a tower and provides ultimate recovery from banishment through Lady, but that hasn’t actually come up yet.
No replays this time, at least not yet. If I get a really nice game, I’ll post it in the comments. Feel free to ask if you have any questions!
