Notes & Combos

So yeah, I did the grind from M5 to M1 with six sams. I hit M5 before this deck released with fiendsmith control and planned to hit master 1 with it before this deck came out but I was too slow. But it's fine. I'm much happier hitting master 1 with the deck I've been playing since 2011.

Anyway. This list is teched to beat both maliss and ryzeal the best it can. If the format was a one deck format, like the previous maliss format, it would be so much easier to just go all the way to M1. Lancea, meowlz, branded regained and super poly (and the regular suite of cards) just make maliss free. On the other hand, ryzeal has its own suite of techs that make that deck free. But the format being 70% maliss and 30% ryzeal makes it so that you have to tech to beat both or just lose half of your games.

Super poly, bystials and talent were the cards that felt most applicable to beating both decks. Super poly eats maliss boards for breakfast and punishes ryzeal pilot who go for starliege lines. You can also set it to punish the follow up ice/ext if you've already baited out hole thruster. Talent turns live if you out the desavewurm in gy or out the firewall. It's also great into ryzeal. Ash checks mtp and is functionally a breaker into maliss. Ryzeal can also randomly lose to ashing their first summon sometimes.

There's so much to say about the engine but honestly, I just don't feel like going into it. I'm playing 23 engine cards/searchers and the deck is 90% + consistent. Invoker, Isolde and elf just fix all the issues the deck has in the tcg in terms of consistency. Gateway sucks into detonator AND maliss so it's just not worth running unless you want to play a (sub) 50% winrate ftk deck. Primite also just eats **** into detonator and I really don't like losing when I go second. Especially since this deck wins going first if you're able to get to lv6 shi en barring maxx c, charmies and droplet exactly. There's no reason to make going first better.
