Notes & Combos
They reigned in the OCG, and they're tearing up the TCG. Will these new virus waifus infect Master Duel? Yes, they most certainly will. Welcome to the new meta: Maliss.
If you don't already know what Maliss is, it's an archetype of DARK Cyberse monsters that can Special Summon themselves if banished and focus on Link Summoning. In short, they make powerful and layered endboards, play amazingly well through interruption, have a ton of extenders, and can play the incredibly strong Dominus Impulse. If you want an in-depth guide to the deck check out GalacticJoey's Maliss guide right here on MDM as well as the Maliss channel on the Discord server for combo spreadsheets. Now let's talk about my deckbuilding choices.
Why am I not on TB-11?
- Because if you're on TB-11, you're behind lol. All jokes aside, I don't think the card is worth including in the deck. The best use case for this card is making your White Rabbit 1-card combo stronger, but you can still make a good board with Rabbit without needing TB-11. If you open with it, you can technically use it to extend, but it's still a brick for the most part and has no utility for your endboard.
Why am I not on Terahertz?
- As a card, Terahertz is a strong boss monster with excellent utility. The problem with Terahertz is that he takes up a lot of Extra Deck space to use. Counting Terahertz itself, you need to dedicate 2-3 slots just to use him effectively. To some people, that's worth it, but not for me. I would much rather cut a Terahertz package in exchange for more Extra Deck utility. You also already have good boss monsters in the deck, so Terahertz feels like a "win more" card in my opinion.
Why am I on Knightmare Cerberus?
- Cerberus has one role: getting Chaos Hunter off of the field. Trust me, this comes up more than you think.
Why am I on Droll?
- Since the deck searches very little, you can self-Droll to play through Maxx "C" and Fuwalos. It's also good against stuff like Mermail.
Is Lancea really needed?
- I'd say so. Maliss really is that good and doesn't lose to most handtraps, but Lancea shuts down the entire strategy. Mirror matches were very common on my climb, so Lancea saw a lot of use. It's also a Crossout target.
Why 2x Lancea and not 3x?
- There wasn't anything else I wanted to cut for the 3rd copy while staying at 40 cards.
Is this the best deck? Yes, and it's not close. Better use an antivirus for these pesky malware girls.
Replays
Replays @ ID: 980-034-332
These replays include duels against many archetypes like Maliss and Blue-Eyes. Many of these duels involved Artifact Lancea and/or Chaos Hunter being used against me, but I was still able to win all of them. Most of these replays are from Master ranked players. I showcase combo lines, the deck's ability to play through disruption, and overall high-level Maliss gameplay. Please check them out if you are interested.
