Notes & Combos
NO floodgates
NO counter traps
NO problem~~
First season laddering with Labyrnth but it went quite well!
Very rocky at first as I learned the basics of the deck ("Ah oops the clock is supposed to be BEFORE chandy..."), but smoothed out the deck ratios thanks to the kind folks on the Lab Discord Channel and got into a good groove with the deck!
I chose specifically the Furniture + Math build because:
- It seemed the most interactive and more room for skill expression compared to set multiple solemns or skill drain
- A lot of people don't understand the Cannon math leading to misplaying into it
- A nice going first hand can still combo off quite well
- It's a midrange deck with access to an out of nowhere INSANE blowout card
Card Choices:
-
2 Rollback/Blackgoat: Really nice synergy with Ariane and the furniture. Black Goat can function as a hand trap turn 0 with Stovie/Chandy. Also great sets off Lady/Trap Trick vs lightning storm/duster. However more than 2 of either felt a bit bricky
-
3x Simultaneous Equation Cannon: The crux of the deck's removal. Turn 0 with Arias is just such an insane handtrap, and it's just a form of interuption that people aren't normally prepared for. You can go as low as level 4 with this Extra deck but the easiest targets are between 6 and 8. Conveniently that includes: Kashtira, Blue Eyes, Millenium, Flamberge, Diabellestar AND Fiendsmith.
-
3x Daruma: It doesn't usually end turns on it's own as you have to use it before they get to their Omni but it's very good combined with other removal and is strong vs the decks that you cannot easily hit with the Cannon
-
3x Impulse: At times didn't feel high impact enough BUT you need as much going second as you can get, and it's very easy to put a trap into gy with furniture and be able to pop with Impulse turn 0
-
3x Ariane: I got annoyed with bricking and decided to just max out on her and have no regrets. Unlike Arianna, the fact you can use both of her effects in one turn feels great and when you get both of them in rotation and are drawing 2 per turn, the value train is WILD
-
3x Butler: Max out your chance of playing turn 0, even if a little bricky sometimes.
-
Field Spell: At first didn't include it BUT found myself really wanting more engine options in grind games and in matchups where the Cannon or Daruma weren't very good
-
Can replace muckracker with Ty-phon
The rest of the card choices are pretty standard, but let me know if you have any questions!!
