Notes & Combos

Always a fan-favorite deck, Sky Striker has been popular since the beginning of Master Duel. When other decks wanted to wombo combo, Striker players simply summoned Raye and activated Engage, again and again and again... Despite the deck's popularity, power creep was ever so present, and eventually even Engage spam at full-power couldn't cut it anymore against the top decks. Things looked dire for Raye until she got a little piece of support called Sky Striker Ace = Zero that would finally change everything. Welcome back to the spotlight Sky Striker.

I've been playing Sky Striker on-and-off since the very beginning of MD. In fact, my second decklist ever submitted to this site was a blind-second Sky Striker list. It's my all-time favorite deck, and with the new support, Sky Striker is finally able to keep up with the rest of the meta once more.

My decklist is a going-first build where the goal is to turbo out Zero, search Engage to search whatever you want, and then end with Zero and as many set cards as you can. Some people may know Sky Striker as a blind-second deck, but Zero allows the deck to finally be able to have a powerful going-first board.

Here's what makes the deck great:

Resilience to Maxx "C" and Mulcharmies

  • Going first, you usually Special Summon only one time since all you need is Zero. Not only does this minimize your opponent's draws, it also means you can keep Ash and Called By in the hand for disruption on your opponent's turn since there's no need to negate the Maxx "C"/Mulcharmy.

Incredible Versatility

  • Sky Striker can basically do whatever you want. You can negate, steal monsters, pop, banish, non-target bounce, Kaiju, attack directly, OTK, dodge targeted interaction, and so much more.

Amazing Board Breaking Potential

  • With a good hand, the deck can potentially break almost any board. Your starters can summon Zero which can lead to pops, you have ready access to Widow Anchor and Lemnisgate, and the deck plays generic board breakers like Droplet, Talents, and Thrust.

Infinite Grind Game

  • Lemnisgate not only acts as mass removal but is also a way to infinitely recycle your cards. Since I play 2x Lemnisgate, the deck will never run out of cards meaning that you can reuse all of your Links and Spells.

While the deck isn't the easiest deck to pilot, a dedicated Sky Striker player can keep up with the meta with game knowledge and tactical decision-making. Don't underestimate Raye, because she's here to stay.
