Notes & Combos

I climbed from Diamond 5 to Master 1 using Unchained Fiendsmith! My most common matchups were Maliss, Sky Strikers, Ryzeal and Mitsurugi.

My most common endboard: Unchained Soul of Rage, D/D/D Wave High King Caesar, a set Escape of the Unchained, along with Lord of Yama in grave. Sometimes there will be an Unchained Twin on board and/or Fiendsmith in Paradise in grave as well.

The deck is really weak against Maxx "C" and Fuwalos... When I am not able to stop them, I will either: go for caesar and pass, summon Unchained and set Escape (If I open it and have at least 1 handtrap) or summon requiem and pass (when starting with fiendsmith and I have fuwalos in hand).

However, the deck can play well while under droll.

Explanations to certain cards used:

Aerial Eater - Very important card used to access either the Unchained cards or Mutiny!

Buio/Mutiny/Luce - Buio and Mutiny are great extenders, and Luce is a really good card when going second (or when the game becomes grindy). These cards give unchained a way to cycle their cards as well, which is really important for the deck when the matche becomes a grind game.

Abominable Unchained Soul - While this card can be a brick in your hand at times, its non-target destruction ability is too good to not run it. Its cost could also be helpful by sending other bricks (that prefer to be in grave) such as Shyama to grave.

Rakea - While a few lists here cut this card, I find that having an extra floating body is still worth a slot in the deck.

Nibiru - A card that helped me win a couple of matches when going second. I highly recommend running at least a copy of it in your deck.

Fiendsmith's Sanct - When starting with engraver and you suspect the opponent has a droll in hand,

Some observations regarding common matchups:

Maliss - While the deck can win against them quite consistently when we go first, the deck really struggles when going second against them. If you do not open maxx "c" or fuwalos and they go full combo, I recommend you to just go next.

Sky Striker - The deck has a good matchup against Sky Striker even when going second. Normally they would have a non-target pop + targeted negates which can be played around decently with this deck.

Ryzeal, Mitsurugi - Droll kills both the decks. For Ryzeal and Mitsurugi individually, the deck can still handle their interruptions going second but if the opponent is using mixed and brings out the full combo of both, it is better to go next.
