Notes & Combos
- Fiendsmith didn't come in the December 2024 Pack, so taking the opportunity to play around with other engines in the meantime. Eventually I came across the Melodious cards being suggested as a good engine for Chimera. Initially, I was skeptical till I saw some recordings of what is possible. After ranking up to at least Master V, I can personally confirm this engine pushes the Chimera/Yubel End Board even further than what I was building in Season 35 (November 2024).
- Most of the time though I used the Melodious Engine as bait before using any of the Yubel and Chimera cards. This is in part driven due to the "restrictions" that come with this engine, (i.e. no monsters on the field and only controlling Melodious monsters), so you are pretty much forced to use them first regardless of your hand. This also means that if you draw the melodious cards outside of the first move, they are sorta like dead draws. Another downside of this engine is the monsters are "Fairy" not "Fiend/Beast/Illusion", so can't really use them as fusion material outside of "Guardian Chimera". In addition with the amount of hand traps being used in the game, it is unlikely you'll pull the full combo consistently, nevertheless you will still end up a decent size endboard if you make it far enough.
- Long story short if you do resolve this engine, the melodious cards helps you build a bigger board that allows you put a Apollousa/Yubel/Chimera board that is hard to break.
