My Fastest Master Climb – Tenpai Dragons vs Malice

This was by far the quickest Master rank climb I’ve ever had. Also my first time piloting Tenpai.

Vs Malice

Lancea was practically glued to my hand this climb and it slapped. It single-handedly shut down both Malice and Kashtira players. Funny enough, I never even shotgun’d it. I’d let Malice players half-combo and then drop Lancea during Main Phase 1. They usually chained March Hare to Lancea.

What really caught people off guard was Ultimate Slayer. For some reason, it triggered panic and forced misplays. I assume many ladder players are still learning the deck, which let me bait activations easily.

Sky Striker Cards & Ratios

Jamming Waves was huge for baiting backrow. Nothing feels better than baiting Desavewurm and then slamming Heavy Storm or Duster. It even baited out Drill Beam while trying to hit True Light.

Draw Cards vs. Board Breakers

I ran just 1 Talents and 2 Thrust. I preferred opening with board breakers rather than risking getting Drolled or Ashed. More draw power sounds great on paper, but not when your hand is all draw cards and you get drolled.

Tenpai Ratios

I only ran 2 Genroku because I hate seeing it in opening hand it. It got Called by the Grave way too often for my liking.

Final Thoughts

I’m a Vanquish Soul player at heart. I also love Infernoble, Paleozoic, and Tellarknights. But when the meta’s a mess and your pet deck is unplayable, Tenpai Dragons is a solid fallback.

Conclusion

I finally get why people play Tenpai. The deck is fast, punishing, and incredibly strong. It does brick, it does fold to Droll, and yes—the worst part is having to sit through your opponent’s hour-long special summoning movie. But hey, it gets the job done.

See you in Ryzeal format.
