Notes & Combos

This is a heavy work in progress, and not close to optimized.

Fiendsmith Engine + Normal summon is a good recipe it turns out, and who is a more cultured normal than our boy Aleister?

The non-engine ratios are mostly there because I wanted to test them all individually. There was even a build with Fuwalos and the Wind Invoked guy in ED but that never came up. I'll see if I can grind this to M1 and do a more involved write up afterwards, but there are a few things I want to note:

Aside from non-engine, the biggest questions you need to answer and decide for yourself:

1.) How many invocations?

This actually depends on the answer to later questions, but you don't want to add too many bricks to the deck. This specifically matters if you're playing paradise, which I honestly think all fiendsmith builds should be doing even with 1 desirae. It almost never comes up where you need the second invocation unless it gets drill-beamed or something. And if they drillbeamed the invocation rather than the Aleister itself your opponent had the soul read on you and just take off your hat to them.

**2.) Paradise even with 1 desirae? **

Yes. You very rarely make desirae as an enboard piece t1. The power of the nontarget send is too strong. Your most common enboard involves Caesar+Mechaba + Sequence and Lacrima in grave. Without an ogre in hand you want to be able to send things like True Light or Regained on demand.

**3.) Caliga really? **

Yes. The most common scenario I'd make it is if I'm on the play, get Bugged, and have my own Bug in hand. Caliga pass and draw phase Bug is pretty potent against a lot of decks.

4.) Generic ED stuff

So the things you can consider flex spots are your 2nd/third invoked guy, M-7, SP, Angel, Agnum-Day.

Don't cut M-7, trust me. Getting back a hand trap, Bystial, or just bouncing an opponents thing is specific but very very powerful. It also makes Saronir significantly stronger when you can grab Lubellion back.

I don't consider SP cuttable, it's too flexible and strong in simplified gamestates that the Fiendsmith deck seeks to create. The same goes for Chaos angel especially since it's so easy to make with LD in this deck.

Agnum day I also think is too valuable a tool to have. The games where you go into Desirae they play really well together, and sometimes you'll need to turn a sequ-oh look we reached character limit oh well gl gamers.
