Notes & Combos

('Droll Bird' is 'Droll and Lock Bird', 'Crossout Designator' is 'Called by the Grave')

Ever since Enlilgirsu and Galatea-I were first revealed over a year ago, I have patiently awaited their arrival in MD. Now they're here, and I have to say, I feel they're pretty much the best support Orcust could have possibly received.

I'd like to start off by explaining why I didn't play Fiendsmith or Mitsurugi... Going into this season, I assumed that Mitsurugi would be the deck to beat, and most players would be playing Droll to counter it. Pure Orcust plays very well into Droll, but by adding the other engines, I lose that benefit. Also, I felt Dominus Impulse would be particularly well-positioned in this Mitsurugi (and Maliss apparently) focused metagame. I still think the Mitsu and Fiendsmith versions of this deck are good. But I personally prefer a lower-ceiling, higher-floor approach. And despite the low number of starters, I found consistency to be acceptable enough to where I didn't feel forced to run another engine

I tried to keep the Main deck ratios as thin as possible. I did consider playing a second Knightmare, but cut it to keep the deck a clean 40. Return is very useful to get Orcust or World Legacy names into the graveyard, so I would recommend playing it. The second Crescendo comes up very often, and I would never consider cutting it. The extra deck was designed with redundancy in mind. Unfortunately, people will always play Kashtira unicorn, and Orcust is much, much weaker without Galatea-I or Dingirsu. Super Polymerization was the MVP this season, and is absolutely worth the three extra deck spaces (Bombardment Beast is for Detonator).

In conclusion, Orcust is an absolutely fantastic deck that I would recommend to anyone. Although it can be difficult to learn exactly how to order your interruptions, your efforts will certainly be rewarded.

I was hoping to take Orcust to Master I this season because it's one of my favorite decks, and I expected Maliss would be less prevalent. But it turns out it's still everywhere, and just as miserable to play against, so Master V will have to suffice.

If you have any questions about the deck please don't hesitate to leave them in the comments, I'm always happy to help. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day.

Replays

018-233-246 Not many good replays unfortunately. In my experience, most players were still playing all-or-nothing decks, and would just forfeit if they didn't get to execute their big combos. Also it took me a lot longer than usual to learn this deck so many potentially good replays were lost to skill issues.
