Dreaming Nemleria

Man, what a fun event. I love getting to play my favorite bad deck. Resolving Nemleria is peak, honestly.

I went 17-3 up until now.

But about the deck:

  • Lots of draw power — very much needed, since this deck can brick hard.

  • The Small World bridges are fantastic. Everything can get to anything, and this helps break boards a lot.

  • The Extra Deck is very cheap, and honestly, you only really need the XYZ.

  • The deck runs a few hand traps and a few board breakers. Hand traps double as starters if you also have Small World, and Gordian Slicer is insane for this deck. Santa also doubles as a starter with Small World and as a board breaker.

So, for people who have never played this deck — what does it do?

Well, not a lot. It can access some disruption with the trap cards. Louve can summon Cake Monster, which can flip a monster face-down, and Repeater can do a lot, but often misses. Being able to negate all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls can choke them out, but taking half damage for the rest of the turn is often enough for us to survive. Dream Tower protects your monsters from destruction, and Couette gives some targeting protection.

So how does this deck win?

All you want to do is banish your Extra Deck face-down to summon Nemleria and banish your opponent’s most important cards. Going first, you set up a small board, survive, and win on the crackback. Going second is a bit more interesting. Nemleria cannot be summoned the turn she puts herself into the Extra Deck from the Pendulum Zone, but using Cake Monster to put her there and then banishing everything (except Nemleria) with Eater of Millions is an instant board wipe. Playing the Sweet Dreams, Nemleria spell when she is in the Extra Deck basically makes her summon a spell-speed 4 effect.

Some Small World Bridges:

Eater of Millions → Santa Claws → Dreaming Nemleria

Effect Veiler → Santa Claws → Cake Monster

Gen/Ken → Santa Claws → Oreiller

Nemleria → Santa Claws → Reveil

Ash Blossom → Ken/Gen → Nemleria

Ash Blossom → Veiler → Santa Claws

DO NOT CUT SANTA CLAWS FROM THIS LIST. This card bridges into everything. I even play 2 copies because of that. (Also, Lava Golem is banned.)
